For Educational Community Alliance Credit Union, investing in our future is a “no brainer”. We’ve supported the education industry for nearly 80 years, since our humble beginnings in 1934 during the Great Depression. Giving back, volunteering in our community and making donations towards Educational endeavors is just part of what we do!

Historically, we’ve awarded nearly $8,000 annually in scholarship funds--on behalf of our Joseph Lenga and Robert D. Conley Scholarships (named for two committed former Board of Directors).  Typically the scholarships provided monetary assistance to high school graduates who plan to pursue a degree at a four-year college or university.

We plan to award funds and monetary awards to schools to assist with the purchase of supplies and equipment to benefit students. We also plan to "pay it forward" by continuing to raise funds for our local children’s hospital through the Marching Miles for Miracle Kids campaign. Our Board of Directors and staff make donations annually and we encourage our members to support the cause with donations of their own.

Our partnership with other local credit unions that are part of the Northwest Ohio Credit Union League allow us to volunteer and make contributions to support financial education among high school students. Two times per year high school students (via invitations to their teachers/counselors) are encouraged to attend Finances 101 sessions at local universities. The fun, interactive, hands-on sessions are designed to teach the students about managing household finances, budgeting, and real-life financial decisions (and consequences) adults face.
