A credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit, financial cooperative association. Credit Unions, like Educational Community Alliance Credit Union, are dedicated to providing members with financial products and services, in a professional, personal, and confidential manner.
Unlike other types of financial institutions, whose goal is to generate profits to satisfy stockholders, we return our earnings to our members (annually) in the form of:
Each member's shares (deposits) are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the United States Government, for up to $250,000. And, if your deposits exceed $250,000, no worries. The Excess Share Insurance Corp (ESI) insures deposits for an additional $250,000. The winning combination of NCUA and ESI means you have share coverage for up to $500,000.
In 1934 we opened our doors as Toledo Teachers Credit Union to bring basic financial services to Toledo Public Schools employees, retirees and their families. That hasn't changed. But, what has changed is that we have expanded membership to include anyone in the Education industry...and their family members too!
While our start in 1934 meant offering basic financial services, today Educational Community Alliance Credit Union members have a full range of financial products such as interest-bearing checking accounts, credit cards, debit cards, mortgages and home equity loans, payroll deduction and direct deposit at their fingertips. Members can also take advantage of Bill Payer 24, Online Banking, Mobile Banking and more.
In addition to Educational Community Alliance Credit Union's Elm Street and Angola Road branches, our members have fee-free access to their funds at a network of ATMs and branches across the country. To locate a branch or ATM near you, click here.
We're all about People Helping People! We are committed to helping people satisfy their individual financial needs. "People Helping People" is not just a catchy slogan for us; instead, it's our way of doing business. It is something we practice on a daily basis.
We invite you to experience the credit union difference by becoming part of the growing Educational Community Alliance Credit Union family. To join, simply visit one of our branches to complete a membership application.
